Shulkman
I had this new system up and running for almost a month now, and I've been paying more attention to noise. I'm running a 600t with an H100i cooler. Today I played with Corsair Link and got the radiator fans set to minimum which brought down the noise there and so far hasn't seemed to make any difference in temperatures, so for now, I'll keep them low. But, I'm starting to think that it wouldn't hurt to check out options for replacing the 200mm fan up front with a nice aftermarket one. I was almost sold on an NZXT fan on Newegg, but in the comments there's a ton of folks saying those fans only fit NZXT cases. Has anyone else replaced their front fan and if so, with what? Once I nail the front fan down, I'll recheck noise levels and possibly replace the rear fan, but one step at a time. Thanks up front for the feedback. peanutz94
I used the Bitfenx fan in my 650D to replace the front 200mm fan . It works great
Shulkman
Ok, so I found this one, looks like it should do a good job. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835345047 But, I wonder if I'm just trading one noise for another. I suppose I could just give some background. I've been playing around with the H100i in Corsair Link. By default, the fans were spinning around about 975 rpm. When I turned the speed down, basically as far as it could go (about 725ish) the temps did nothing. Stayed good and stable. What that tells me is that I have a ton of airflow already within the case. So, what I can do is sacrifice some of these RPM's (and the noise) until I have a better balance between a cool case and a quiet one. I'd like to find fans that I can plug into my second Corsair link channel and control the speed. (I assume it would work just like the radiator fans, as long as the new fans are PWM.) Then I can bring the speed down until I find the sweet spot. Thoughts?
Shulkman
Hmmm... I just found this one, thinking it might be super nifty for replacing the fans for the H100i. Supposed to be super quiet. http://www.frozencpu.com/products/16920/fan-1050/Noiseblocker_NB-eLoop_B12-P_120mmx25mm_Ultra_Silent_Bionic_Blade_PWM_Fan_-_800_-_2000_RPM_Hot_Item.html?tl=g33c165s358
peanutz94
They would be quiet and would be good for a regular heatsink, but those have really low static pressure and wouldn't be a good choice for use on a radiator. You would want something that would be closer to or better than the originals. Which would be 4mm of static pressure vs the 2.2mm that the NB fans have. Shulkman
K, I'll keep that in mind. I suppose I need to find out what the stock fans specs all are. I was ready to buy a couple Corsair SP Quiet Edition fans until I was told I shouldn't since they aren't PWM fans. (According to Jeff at Corsair). Once I finagle all the specs for the H100i stock fans, plus the 200mm front and 120mm (I'm guessing) rear fan on the 600T, then I can start looking for ways to improve upon those specs. peanutz94
Here's the specs for the stock fans. Fan speed: 2700 RPM Fan airflow: 77 CFM Fan dBA: 37.68 dBA Fan static pressure: 4mm/H20
