Afroman03
I just recently got these speakers with my gaming pc purchase from pcspecialist and I am currently running with onboard sound and though the satellites are loud the sub is barely audible till it is maxed out (bass volume) and even with the system at full volume and full bass the sub still does not feel/sound as powerful as it should for the size and power stated in the specs. I have been thinking of purchasing an asus dgx sound card (currently low on money so any good budget sound card recommendations are welcome) and was wondering if this will help improve the subs performance. any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. side note: Most of my music is bass heavy as I listen to a lot of hip-hop, RnB and dubstep most of which are encoded in either 320kbps mp3 or flac format. Quiz
I too had to crank the bass volume level almost to the max to get some good bass out of it. The subwoofer volume is set at just below the red level.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 17, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 17, 2013 Do you feel a good amount of air being pushed out by the subwoofer when your music is on?
Afroman03
At any level above the blue there is a good amount of air from the port, lower this and the amount of air and sub output also decreases quite a bit.

Good to hear as this is consistent with a working subwoofer. It is weak once you get into the blue levels and this is mostly because the range on the device is not as wide as it implies. Having a dedicated sound card will help with performance too as most onboard audio won't be enough to drive the speakers. Before you get one though, I'd recommend asking around to see if there is one you can loan so you can sample it.
