Call Me Ishmael
I've had issues before with this particular SSD where upon powering on it hangs on the windows logo and that is it. I cleaned the SSD using your tools and then installed the OS all over again. I follow all the tips on how to maintain an SSD. Yet, three days ago my computer booted up. I signed in. And it froze mid boot. It shuts off on its own and then I got the same windows logo hang issue. When I used my thumb drive loaded with linux (Ubuntu 13.04) I can't mount the hard drive as it is in an unsafe state (telling me to load the SSD and turn it off in windows since its in hibernate). I attempt to mount it as read only just to get some important files off and it crashed ubuntu. If I attempt to boot off the win8 disc it won't even get to the install/repair with the SSD hooked up. I have to unplug the force gt or it hangs at the windows logo even if I set the boot priority to ignore my SSD and load straight from the disc. I'd like to get a few things off the SSD if possible, however if I need to RMA it so be it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time
Toasted
Plug the drive into another computer and see if you can copy your files from the SSD.
Call Me Ishmael
Plug the drive into another computer and see if you can copy your files from the SSD. I have used an external enclosure as well as my friends comptuer. It comes up as the drive is "Hibernating" on his copy of Quantal Quetzal (12.10) Mounting it detects the drive as "hibernating" and when mounted as read only it crashes the entire system. I'll try to find a friend with a Windows machine and get back to you. However. I've tried all five SATA ports on my computer with a myriad of cables and three enclosures. I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and RMA this thing. I have a week old back up, however I did quite a bit of work for one client in the past week and I'd really like to get that back. Not life or death, but it would be nice haha Again, thanks for the tip and for your time
Toasted
If you have tried it on a different computer and your one and it still did not work, Then the only option would be to request an RMA to replace the drive.
