How well will the corsair 1300 headset work on a laptop with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102036&Tpk=creative%20go%20pro&IsVirtualParent=1 ?

I already have it, since my older laptop the headphone port broke on it, and i was forced to get a usb option, but that headset wasnt very good and it broke in like 8 months anyway.

how rugged is the 1300? since my old headset broke from the motion of taking them off and putting them on (ALOT of times). it broke at the point where the earcup connects to the headband part of the headset.

also is there any plans to make like a v2 of the 1300? i seen there are new versions of they keyboard and mice, was there any plans to make newer versions of the headsets?

as i dont play on buying a headset for probably a month or two anyway.

The V1300 will work with that USB dongle, but the quality is really subjective (and partially based on the quality of the dongle itself).

I can't comment, however, on future or unreleased products.

well it is a decent dongle, but i really have nothing to compare it to, so i cant really say for sure how good it is.

If definitely has a headphone amp in it (as using basic headphones from onboard > usb dongle, having it on max volume onboard is not really too overly loud, to zomg my ears are bleeding with the usb dongle).

So im sure it would be able to power the 1300 enough to make it usable.

But i was wondering, would getting the 1300 and using that usb dongle have better quality then the 1500?

as i really dont want a usb headset, since i do play on building a pc in the next few months and am probably going to get a asus sound card, and i just want a decent analog headset. (im looking for like $100 and under area)

Also do you think https://www.asus.com/Sound_Cards_and_DigitaltoAnalog_Converters/Xonar_U3/ would be a better option for the 1300?

I've never used an USB dongle so I can't give you an opinion on that. Maybe someone here on the forums can do a better job of that than I can. The Xonar U3 does look pretty impressive though as it has the Dolby Digital our 1500 has and extra grounding to help with mobile laptops and their chargers.

Hi filenotfound,

This headset is amazing with an amp, I'm currently using a FiiO E07K USB DAC with a FiiO E09K desktop amp. Though you don't need the desktop amp. The USB DAC works wonders, I say the E07K is probably the best bang for buck for an USB DAC and amp you can get for under $99 dollars. I would even dare to say that it's better than a USB soundcard. Of course if you got more than $200 dollars to throw for a USB DAC/AMP then there are better ones, but you can't get any better than the FiiO E07K if you ask me.

Kind Regards,

WaveZero
