Greenthy
Hi, I build my new PC yesterday and followed a video of installing the H110 on my 1155 intel board. After first handtighing the screws I proceeded to use a screwdriver for half a turn. However I quickly found myself turning 'wild'. That is to say, when I looked at the backplate I could see the screw holders turning along with the screws... Does this mean I broke my H110 ? I'm guessing remounting it will be near impossible. Does this then also mean that I currently don't have the proper cooling? (as in no good contact)
madmecca1975
Are the bits that you screw in to on the back plate sat properly maybe they have just popped out of the holder a little when you have pushed a little to hard
Greenthy
The bits are turning around somewhere in the middle of the plate, I haven't tried pushing them down, but I'm guessing it wrecked the center of the backplate
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 8, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 8, 2013 Try pushing them down. Just make sure that the bits are inserted all the way in the backplate so it does not turn with the thumbscrew when you are securing them.
peanutz94
A small drop of super glue on the metal insert for the backplate will also help keep it from turning. Just don't get the glue down inside the screw holes itself.
