Prominia
Im new to overclocking, I recently overclocked my cpu where it is stable, but by doing, it lowered my ram to 1444mhz because i changed the SPD to 8 to reach my stable cpu overclocked. When nothing is overclocked and i enable xmp it does read correctly.. My Ram is corsair xms3 TR3X6G1600C8 G rated at 1600 8-8-8-24 @ 1.65 CPU-Z shows it at 722 mhz and 8-8-8-20. I do not want to overclock my ram i just want it to be stock at 1600. I did read the manual for my mobo which is ga-x58a-ud3r, which it did say to enable the xmp profile to get correct ram speeds. So all i really want to know is how to put my ram at 1600.
peanutz94
Just enable the XMP profile. But as you start raising your CPU overclock the mb will auto adjust the memory speed to compensate for the higher CPU OC. The XMP profile will only be good with stock CPU clocks. After you start messing with CPU settings the board will revert to manual mode. But thats not to say you can't experiment to see if you can't get the memory running closer to 1600 depending on your CPU overclock. Try a different multi or ratio depending on what your bios calls it. CPU-Z shows it at 722 mhz and 8-8-8-20. I do not want to overclock my ram i just want it to be stock at 1600. That would be 1444mhz then. And you already are overclocking your memory . Your CPu only supports a max of 1333mhz memory so running them at any higher speed would be a memory overclock. You just want to get closer to the rated speed of the modules.:)

Prominia
Well i was messing around in my BIOS and changed my settings to 19x200 with the spd being at 8 still, which brought my ram to 1600mhz, and cpu to 3.8ghz. I ran prime95 for 10 hours with no errors or warnings. CPU-Z is showing all of the right timings as well. Thank you for all of the help.
