ATallNerd
I updated my SSD (Force 3 120GB) to 5.05a and it my computer started running very slow, task manager said that it the disk was being accessed 100% at 2 megabytes per second constantly. I plugged it into my desktop and first tried to reflash 5.05a but it did not change anything, then I tried to revert to 5.03 but when I rebooted the SSD would not show up at all. I flashed 5.05a using the new toolbox that was mentioned here: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showpost.php?p=650766&postcount=20 and I tried to revert using the standard firmware utility. Toasted
Go to Resource Monitor>Disk and see if you can find the cause of the issue.
ATallNerd
It doesn't show up in the bios or device manager at all any more, I'll check resource monitor soon. Also I looked into the SSD from the sata ports and I can see a red light, reminds me of the horrors I had with a sandforce based SSD from another company, I'm hoping this time its not a permenant issue. Yellowbeard
Remove the power and data cable from the SSD for a few minutes and then test it again. Also, did you do a backup of your drive before you updated it?
ATallNerd
I left unplugged overnight and it still has a red light and is not detected in bios, resource monitor, or device manager. I didn't, but I have all my important things synced to the cloud so it isn't a huge deal in terms of data loss. The downtime of the computer is the biggest issue. Toasted
Try the SSD on another computer and see if its detected in the BIOS. If not, request an RMA to replace the drive.
