aastech
I'm going to be needing a new system soon; Current computer is coming up on 5 years, while I still believe its strong, my current rig is; Asus P5QL-E Intel Q6600 Radeon HD4850 4GB 1066 RAM -- My bottle neck right now is the mobo is only PCI-express 2.0 which limits my GPU upgrade. So because of that, I am looking to upgrade this year. But should I build now, or wait for a possibly new release of PCI-e or DDR4? I've just upgrade to an SSD drive and changed to an Obsidian 650D case. I would use this build to casually play games (starcraft, simcity, civ5, etc...) Administrators Technobeard Posted May 3, 2013 Administrators Share Posted May 3, 2013 I'd probably wait until this summer for Haswell. Even if you don't get the new CPU, older items should drop in price a bit.
aastech
Good point. Hopefully motherboard manufactures will be close behind on the new socket set. I was hoping to use Asus Sabertooh, but I can wait a little longer.
