neXen
Is it necessary to plug the pump into the CPU_Fan header? Or can i just leave it unplugged? I have two aftermarket PWM fans that i want controlled via the MOBO and was wondering if i could either connect the pump to a chassis header or leave it unplugged since the pump speed does not change. Ash_0
Yes you can leave it unplugged or plug it on a case fan header but in that case you won't have a CPU Fan Error to warn you if the pump fail. Some would tell it's not a good idea to plug multiple fans on the same mobo header but you could get a splitter to connet the 2 fans directly off the same cpu fan header. wytnyt
Is it necessary to plug the pump into the CPU_Fan header? milan616
There is no interaction, it's just an RPM sense wire. You don't have to use it.
