H80i - SORT IT OUT!

Hi guys, I've found many rants about the H80i online and here are my issues..

Hopefully someone can help.

I can not adjust my RPM on the two fans that come with the H80i.

I can not adjust the RGB settings on my H80i.

H80i is one day old..

I have installed the Corsair Link software, have setup a profile with max temps including set Fans to 100% but they are just ignored it would seem.

I tried to do a Firmware update, the software returned an error Failed to load Firmware file.

Good stuff.

I can't do anything with this crap, I downgraded from a H100 as the radiator didn't fit in my case and I might as well just be using Air Cooling right now.

Idling at 40 degrees, come on!!

I'm running Windows 8, I've heard that may be an issue. Can't do anything about that though.

Where do I stand with this?

Admins, I have a ticket:

6012377

On top of that, your website is so crap! >.< Its frustrating.

I registred to create a ticket, changed my password after logging in. Now I can't login again.. So I have to change my password once again.

What's the point? Failure after failure.

This company comes across as some sort of joke.

Update on the login issue, it would seem the account I created was for:

https://corsair.secure.force.com/

Not for your actual website, http://www.corsair.com

On top of this, I need a separate account for your forums.

So now, thats 3 accounts I have? Wow, nice one.

Regards,

Dean.

OK, So I decided to unplug the two Corsair fans from the Y power lead and plug them straight into my Motherboard.

Wow, what a racket! But besides that, they are now running at full power. Sounds like I'm in a Plane.

The noise isnt bothering me, my tempertures are.

Because they have not changed.

I am using 1-2% of my Intel i7 3.5Ghz 3770K and its running at 38-40 degrees.

What?!? No change even with the fans on full whack. I don't understand it, why is the H80i running so hot?

Should I RMA, with the possibility of this device being faulty?

look in bios and verify the pump is running ~2200 rpm,if it is try putting a little pressure on the cooler to see if temps drop.if they do try tightening the block in small increments.if theres no temp change then chances are the tim isnt properly spread.,is it stock tim or?

also 30's idle temps arent so important as is the load temps.

Load temps are above 55 in CS:S

Its stock tim, should I get some new tim and reapply?

not sure what cs is but 55 under a full load is quite good.also the cpu temp will jump up even when theres a few degrees of load as its very sensitive and ambient temp plays a big part also

You would need to call CS and discuss that with them. Sorry there is no access to that system from the forums.

When you use the automated RMA system you only receive automated responses back. So ,no it wouldn't have been offered to you. Best to call and let them know.

I've taken your suggestion and rang the CS.

I'm actually from the UK, but was able to call them through my Gmail account at $0.01 PM..

Will let you know what they suggest and if I get anywhere.

Wow, I must say.. American customer services are unreal.

I would never get that service in the UK.

Here is where I stand..

The H80i is dead, shame. They are sending me a new one.

Because I do not have any other coolers, they are express RMA'ing me at the cost of a held $80. Thats fine, I don't mind that.

Once I receive it, I have to send my old one back using the pre paid labels they have emailed me.

I must say, you have turned a very angry customer into a happy guy again.

Thank you Corsair & community.
