Faulty Fan to Power Y Cable

Recommended Posts

I bought a H80i on April 25 for a new ITX build. It was going well until it came to connecting the fans to the pump using the Y Cable. The side that connects to the pump has 2 loose wires. I filled out a RMA ticket (# 6009464) on April 26. I got an automated reply saying a Customer Service rep would get back to me within 8 business hours. So far nothing. Live Help seems to be offline. I've included two links with pictures of the problem.

Thanks.

looks to me like the wire lock allowed the wire to be pushed back when connecting, you could connect it and then push those 2 wires on in,or you could remove the wire and spread the wire lock out a bit and most likely will be good as a new one.

I tried pushing in the wires so it is flush with the other ones in the connector. When I hooked it up to the pump and fired on the rig, the fans would turn on. But they would suddenly speed up and then slow down (on more than one occasion). This leads me to believe there is a loose connection (between the wires in the cable and the prongs on the pump).

Note: This isn't my first Corsair closed loop water cooler. I also have two H80s. ^^

I haven't swapped the cables as it is currently in use.

I am still waiting for an official statement from Corsair. I shouldn't have to tolerate a damage cable from a new product especially from a company like Corsair. It's been 4 days since I sent in my ticket.

The part you requested is not available as a single item so I changed the part number to the cable kit and approved your request. You should get an email confirming that and another email when the cable kit is shipped.
