Omegaman007
Been having issues with "Display driver stopped responding and recovered" in my Win7 x64 loadout PC (i920 X58 chipset gaming rig). Thought it was the graphics card at first but put an old card in and the problem persisted. Either my Win7 became corrupted somehow (even though it passes file file integrity test), or there is an issue with my RAID0 setup that arises after some period of time. Decided to reinstall Windows last night so I updated the firmware for both drives and noticed that they have different signatures. Is this OK to run like this in RAID0 or could this cause problems down the line? Both drives are Corsair Force Series 3 CSSD-F120GB3A-BK 2.5" 120GB. Does garbage collection work on these drives when they are run in RAID0? Also, what's the latest in if one should install the Intel Rapid Storage technology drivers? Not sure if I need to bother with these. Systems appears to be working OK so far (just got initial install done and that's it). Thanks!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 30, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 30, 2013 Garbage Collection does work in RAID but for TRIM to work if you are using Windows 7 it will depend on the driver version for your controller. And on the second part of your question I am sorry but I am not clear on what you are asking. But if its the Firmware version I just posted 5.05A this week. Depends on the rom also you need a newer one to get trimm in raid for p67+ im not sure if x58 has trimm at all when in raid.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 30, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 30, 2013 bal3wolf Good catch most of the controller firmware is not using the latest available because of available space in the BIOS ROM on X58 Chipset MB's; so good catch. Omegaman007
I meant this: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/sftwr-prod/imsm My motherboard manufacturer has a version of it for my motherboard on their website. I'm just not sure if I should install it (if it improves performance), or if I should just run without it and keep clutter to a minimum. I've tried to find a definitive answer but it seems that there is quite a bit of conflicting info about whether it's needed or if the default microsoft drivers are fine. Thanks.
