Help with Intel DZ77GA-70K and CMD16GX3M2A1866C9

First my specs

i7-3770K CPU

Intel DZ77GA-70K mobo

CMD16GX3M2A1866C9 Dominator Platinum (here the specs http://www.corsair.com/us/dominator-platinum-with-corsair-link-connector-1-5v-16-gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmd16gx3m2a1866c9.html)

Latest BIOS.

I selected this memory as compatible for my motherboard with the Corsair Memory Finder tool.

OK, the XMP profile at 1866 can boot the computer but becomes completely unstable.

I checked with Prime95 and other tests at default speed 1333 (and even for a while a 1600) I think the modules are ok.

I just need a profile for seting the memory at 1600 which its the default for my computer, I already did several tests but nothing stable, please note that the computer wont even boot with the memory voltage beyond the default 1.5.

I need all the specs for a custom profile :/

You can run CPUz and it will give you the settings for the JDEC profiles. But if nothing is stable even after adjusting the voltages then you have some other issue going on.

I would test each module one at a time with memtest86+ for a minimum of 3 passes or until you get an error. If this is a new build there is always the possibility of a bad board, but lets see how the memory does with memtest first.

There really are no custom profiles anymore. All you will find on the forum are the advertized settings and that is all Corsair can guarantee as some settings will differ from system to system even given the same hardware. If you choose to run the memory outside of the rate specs you do so at your own risk.

Thank you for your answer. Actually you can see my last post in this other thread http://forum.corsair.com/v2/showthread.php?t=117553, where another person with the same Intel mobo was having the same problems.

Well I don't know if you used Intel mobos before, but many times this is the sort of problems you can expect. Memory profiles that should work right away? Good luck with that. OC assistant in the bios that supposedly would set the right settings? It will lead most likely to the BIOS reset jumper.

:(

So there is a lot of guesswork involved. Unless for some reason the profile was developed specifically for your mobo (my fiance has an Intel sandybrige mobo and corsair kit with a profile that worked right away) but I never had that luck, as most everyone that uses Intel motherboards.

You were right, it was a case of a bad module, I answered you regarding this in the other thread also.
