TimDK
hey guys i have a new build which contains MB: Asus p8z77-v Deluxe CPU: Intel i7 3770k CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i PSU: Corsair AX860i Ram: Corsair Dominator Platinum 4x8GB 1866 Mhz GPU: Asus GTX 670 4gb ram version SSD: Corsair Force 3 HDD: Western digital black 1 TB HDD: Western digital Raptor 250 GB (old HDD) Case: Cooler master Cosmos II i have been using this build since January with no complains. but a few days ago i moved my computer to a new apartment, used my computer the last 4 days, on the 4. day when i turned the computer on i was sitting at it in about 40 mins then all the suddenly it turned off, almost like the power just disappeared. now when i try to turn the computer on it just start to spin the fans for like 1 second and power turns off straight away right after. i have tried to take all the parts out and reconnect them to make sure nothing is loose but problem still continues, nothing changed. I then took it all out again and tried to boot it with out anything in it, no HDD, GPU, only 1 RAM stick (tried with every single 1 of them just to be sure) i should maybe mention that when i was moving the computer i moved it very carefully as the last thing and i used the originally packaging. and the movement are only a few 100 meters so a friend and i was carrying it all the way so i know it didnt get any bumps at all. when i try to test the PSU it only shows a red light. but can the PSU already be dead i mean it is only a few months old wired thing is tho when it is all connected i have power lights on my Motherboard and GPU. hope you guys got some troubleshooting ideas or know what if i should just RMA this PSU since that is the only thing i can think of is the problem here. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 27, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 27, 2013 When you tested the PSU, did you hold down the button completely until it finishes the test? Do you also have a second PSU to test with?
TimDK
yes i kept the button down, the fan on it start to spin and stops just right after. ecaxtly the same as when it is connected to my sysem and all the fans started up but stoped right after. i do not have any second PSU's :/
TimDK
i have now tested my system with a friends PSU, and it started up like normally so my guess is it is the PSU. sadly the PSU is only about 2 months old.
