Corsair HX1000 problem

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I built my gaming rig 2 years ago now and not had any issues for a long time. I shut down my pc off on Monday as normal and when I came to power it on today the machine wouldn't switch on. There was no system beeps or boot up. The psu, CPU and case fans moved for 0.5s and stopped. Upon a second press of the on switch nothing happened. However, when I reset the CMOS on the motherboard then the fans spin again for 0.5s and no boot up occurs.

I tested the PSU by shorting the green wire and black wire on the 24-pin socket using a paper clip. The attached fan and psu fan did spin for ~1s and then stopped (I guess due to capacitive discharge). I guess this is the end for my HX1000?

When I RMA this unit I notice that HX1000 units are obsolete so will I receive a new model or a refund (minus degradation cost)? How long will the RMA take and is it possible for Corsair to send out a new unit prior to receiving my defective psu? Thank you for any information you can give me.

I am sorry that happened and yes the HX1000 is no longer available and the HX1050 would be the replacement and yes you can request an express RMA with the use of a credit card and we can send the replacement before you sen the old unit. You can do all that from our support site just click the link on the left to request an RMA.
