Ash_0
Hi, I saw those new pwm versions of the Air Series fans listed on several shops online, any idea when they will be available on the Corsair Webstore ? They are available (in 3 to 5 days) at the store next to my place but the prices are a little... ridiculous (38€ for the dual pack => 50$). See you~ EDIT : They are on the webstore, I'm pretty sure they weren't when I checked (or maybe I'm blind).
Corsair Employees COOL GUY Posted April 25, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 25, 2013 It is a recent addition to the website. We received our shipments in and are getting them out into the channel at this time. They should be in stock at most major retailers pretty quickly. Ash_0
Thanks for the explanation Coolguy. I really hope that these fans are controlable with corsair link without making the awful "clicking" noise of the 3pin version...
Corsair Employees COOL GUY Posted April 25, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 25, 2013 The new PWM version of the SP series fan is controllable with the H80i/H100i. They do not make the clicking sound either. If you have not already, I would suggest 1.05 firmware for the PWM fans.
Ash_0
Thanks for the quick reply ! I was talking about the noise made by the 3pin version when plugged on a cooling node if you try to slow the speed down through Corsair Link but I'm guessing, that will be fine too since PWM fans seems to work quite well on the cooling node generally. Any plan for a PWM version of the AF Series ?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 1, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 1, 2013 That noise should not be an issue anymore with the new PWM fans. Running them at a lower rpm should not produce any noise at all. We do not know at the moment.
Ash_0
That's really great but what about those like me who had bought their Air Series fans thinking they would work flawlessly with Corsair Link. :sigh!: I had started a support ticket to ask if it would be possible to exchange my 3pin fans for their equivaling PWM versions but I've never received any response from the tech support. I was hoping that a firmware update of the cooling node would eventually solve the noise issue for the 3pin fans, but it won't happen apparently... I just bought 16 SP120 PWM but I also have a lot of 3pin Air Series fans and these clicking noises are really frustrating.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 2, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 2, 2013 Please use the link on the left and request an RMA for the fans and I will be happy to get them replaced for fans that will work for you. Just please post the case number and I will make sure it gets done.
Ash_0
Thanks RAMGUY but I think I'm gonna wait and see if a PWM version of the AF120/140 fans comes out in the next few days/weeks (and I really hope it will) and then I will ask for a remplacement of all my 3pin corsair fans. But if you have the time, I would lappreciate if you could take a look at my ticket #6012080, I'm a little worried about the situation of this case, I had already asked if you could check into it in another thread but you missed my post apparently (the threads are sinking really fast in this section).
