xxbobbyfinxx
Okay, so I spent tons of time researching headsets and DSS vs True Surround Sound and these headphones had a lot of good reviews. I purchased them and am completely in awe at how not surround sound these are. Maybe it's just me, or my settings, but after 2 hours of messing around with all kinds of buttons, I still for the love of God think it sounds like stereo. This video is my test. Now I can hear the left channel, right channel, center, then **** goes to the fan. The right surround channel and right rear surround channel both sound the exact same as the right channel. I even closed my eyes and tried to locate the sound, and all I can tell you is right. It's like my pair of headphones just can't make any sounds that sound like they are behind me. Is this the drawback of digital surround sound? I am in the 7.1 surround sound mode, which is the third button in the control panel for the headphones. If I do the middle button, which nobody can clearly label apparently, then all sound in front of me does sound far away and surround sound like, but again, anything behind me is just right or left. I am amazed at how bad this appears to be.... Could I get some help? I have the 1.1 drivers installed and the Windows thing is set up to 7.1 surround sound. Toasted
Make sure flash is updated to the latest version. Check the Windows Audio settings. Right Click the speaker icon>Playback Devices>Select the V1500>Configure>Click 7.1 Surround.
shankly1985
Just to point out all sound on Youtube is in stereo, Youtube dont support anything above 2.0. So watching Youtube it will sound like Stereo :D Try playing a game BF3 for example and be blown away :) Edit It would seem I jumped the gun on this? Just watched it and I could clearly tell and hear all the speakers. I was 100% sure Youtube dont support 5.1 or 7.1 audio? Or it doesn't still but the Headset software is doing a very good job sorting it? Anyway to answer you first post the sound works fine for me. As for configuring 7.1, I've done that multiple times already.

I can hear all the speakers as well, but the speakers to the right and behind me all sound identical.

Try using windows own one, sound audio playback devices and click on configure. Now you can press on speakers what does it sound like on there? shankly1985
Make sure you using Dolby option in the corsair CP middle setting. Now on Windows Go to Audio device and click on configure and setup the speakers to 7.1. What game you tried playing? I ask this because some games like Fifa 13 for example is only 2.0 and dont support 7.1.

The 5.1 is the best sounding, but still anything behind me is the same. I'm trying to play BF3.
Toasted
Try the headset on another computer and see if its better or the same.

You want to setup the middle one and have the windows audio setup as 7.1 this will give you sound all around. Good games are CSGO and battlefield 3 for testing audio. I'm sorry why is there no manual? I would like to know what all the buttons do.

The last option is a 7.1 shifter, so you can setup the levels yourself but as you finding out it isn't easy.
