tom.ganc
Hi there Some time ago I bought H100i and decided to go for quiet fans SP120. The problem I've got is I'm unable to controll fans speed from the software. They work on full speed. Am I missing something or what? Anybody knows what to do? Thanks
Toasted
The H100i will run any aftermarket fans at max speed. Some fans may/may not work.

I have SP120 silent edition and they just blast at full speed. No speed control over them ;( I was wondering if this was something wrong with the system. The original fans are way to noisy so I wanted to improve it slightly. No much point doing that if I can't control speed of the new fans :(

No much point doing that if I can't control speed of the new fans :( The H100i software Corsair Link 2 only works with Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) fans and the two stock fans it came with are those type. Yea the H100i will work with other fans like the SP120 but as you see you're unable to control fan speed (I know because I have same setup). You can do some research on this forum or the net about this issue with H100i and fans. Many other use a fan controller of some type or buy better PWM fans. Look at your stock fans and see the power end has a 4 pin setup and the SP120 have a 3 pin power setup that's the difference in why software won't control fans. wytnyt
what really befuddles me is whats so wrong with the stock cooler fans? you can control them using the link, you can turn them down to 550 rpm and their dead quiet but if you need additional cooling you can spin them up .yes at full blast their noisy but that goes with any powerful fan.i can run my system at 100% load constantly and have my fans at 950 rpm and get mid 50' temps and still its virtually dead quiet. is it an addiction to have to get rid of the stockers?,seriously i have 7 in each of my builds and their as quiet as any other system out there.
