Stargeezer
First Post and hoping I'm not committing a sin, but with all the talk about buggy software problems, why not just run my H80i from the my Asus Sabertooth MB and skip downloading a possible problem? A few system details; Asus Sabertooth Z77 MB Intel 3770K 32 gig Dominator Platinum DDR3 1600 Master Cooler Haf X full tower 4 WD Black 2T drives and of course the H80i to keep the CPU happy :D: Everything gets put together this evening. Thanks for any help.
ccaution
You can certainly run your fan on the motherboard's headers - but keep the unit (pump) @ the molex as well :)

Stargeezer
I've got my system together now and the idle temp on the CPU is 26c, room @ 70F. The pump is quiet, the fans are running as they should in my mind. I'd just hate to download link and have the noise, grinding, and funny fan operation some report. Certainly I know that some folks can have problems with a paperweight :D, and while I've built hundreds of computers (I worked my way through school building computers a long time ago), this is my first Hydro Cooler. Thanks folks.

wytnyt
LOL, you mean it the other way around maybe? ;): LOL,no i dont controlling the fans is much better using link rather than using the m/b.plus with asus boards their software is unreliable and picky on fan control
DWreck
LOL,no i dont controlling the fans is much better using link rather than using the m/b.plus with asus boards their software is unreliable and picky on fan control Yea I'd agree with that. ASUS has there very nice Fan Xpert II which I'v used, and I think it can do exactly the same things Corsair Link can, but you still need to count the Motherboards that Don't have PWM, that Don't have any standard Software to control the fans, that Don't have any free fan headers, and that some people like the easy way which is simply follow the directions and done. I use Fan Xpert II just because I use AI Suite II for many other things so its more convenient for me to use since its in the same menu. Plus Fan Xpert II has an option to keep your fan off until it reaches the temp you set it to as well, and I like this for my H100i because it cools itself on idle with no fans fine. Actually the entire case runs with no fans on idle just fine. And I don't think Corsair Link can do that, but that would be the only think it can't do. DWreck
no with link control each brand fan has a min rpm, none are zero tho Yea, it basically turns it off the when it hits what ever your fan curve is then it turns on starting at the min RPM at least. It can't go from 0-500 RPM nice and slowly, it needs to start from at lease the min.
