Dual Channel Compatibility of CMT16GX3M4X2133C9?

I'd like to know if the CMT16GX3M4X2133C9 kit will actually work on a Dual Channel setup? I want to install the kit on an ASUS Maximus V Extreme which is Dual Channel comprising of the Z77 chipset.

I'd also like to know why is it that you have the CMT8GX3M2B2133C9 kit that comes with the Airflow II Fan, but the CMT16GX3M4X2133C9 kit doesn't?

Single , dual, triple , and quad channel is actually a function of the Mb and not the memory . So even though they are advertized as a dual ,quad set they will run in dual channel with your MB.

Just a different option for those who might want the extra cooling if you plan on overclocking them past the rated specs. It's still the same memory but an 8 gig set instead of the 16 gig kit.

That's what I thought about the memory.

But why doesn't the 16GB kit come with the fan? We might want to overclock it too. Besides that, you can attach the Airflow Pro to any other RAM modules without the Airflow 2 fans. So it basically boils down to having to purchase all 3 separately and I'll be damned if the Airflow 2 (in red) fan is available in Australia. I've looked everywhere and can't find one.

Usually the overclockers that are going for really high speeds that would require extra cooling do so with just two modules because of the decreased load on the memory controller. In other words you can reach higher clock speeds with two modules vs four modules. So i can only speculate that is why they don't offer the fan with the 4x4gig kit. To be totally honest the modules are not going to get that hot unless you are pushing pretty high voltages and isn't really needed.

Not true. You have to have the fan before you can use the AFP and only with modules that have the data port on them

http://www.corsair.com/us/memory-by-product-family/corsair-memory-accessories/airflow-pro.html

Requirements:

Dominator Memory with DHX Pro technology (DOMINATOR Modules with part numbers starting with CMP and CMT)

Corsair Airflow 2 fan SKU # CMXAF2

NOT compatible with Airflow 1 SKU # CMXAF

The fan isn't included and is required.
