tomxlisa
I have recently bought a new PSU to go with my new GPU, before buying this PSU i had a whining noise on my old one but thought it was the PSU that was at fauly so was happy to buy my new one to go with my GPU hoping that the added bonus would be the whining noise gone. It seems that i am getting the whining noise with the new PSU too which i am not too happy about after paying more for a premium PSU, i have tried all the steps to take in the (Noisy PSU sticky thread) and am still getting the same problem, it is like i have tinnitus but got other people to check to see if they can hear the sound and they can. What are my options here, the PSU is about 2 days old but am hoping i don't have to replace it as i don't fancy taking all my computer apart. Thanks. peanutz94
It's entirely possible for a GPU to cause coil whine. I would tend to think that is whats going on if you are on a second PSU with the same symptoms. But can I ask if both PSU were the same make /model? Or were they from different vendors? tomxlisa
They was from different makes, but the other PSU when that was whining i didn't have any dedicated GPU in my system, i was using the CPU GPU instead and still had the same issue, the noise seems to get worse when playing games, but you can still hear it in windows enough to annoy you.
