redrulz
Hello, first of all let me just start by saying i used to Memory Finder on the website and i still dont understand something, here it goes: I'm planning on buying a ASROCK Z77 PRO3 and id very much like to use corsair memory, so i was looking in the vengeance kits for some dual channel compatible memory and i found one i liked, a single 8gb 1600 cl9 black stick ( CMZ8GX3M1A1600C9 ), i only want one stick right now but i plan on upgrading in the future, so just to be safe then sorry i decided to check compatibility list on the MoBo manufacturer website and oddly i didnt find this kit (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C9) in the list, i checked the memory finder on the corsair website and it wasnt there either which doesnt make any sense due to the specs of the MoBo and the memory kit, can anyone tell me if it is in fact not compatible
peanutz94
It is in fact compatible, however using just one stick will basically cut your memory operations in half since you would only be running in single channel mode vs dual. For the best performance it would really be best to use two sticks. Might be worth your while to consider a 2x4gig kit if all you need is 8 gig's

They view it as mixing memory and often causes more issues than not. There is no way to guarantee correct operation and or rated speeds. So if you run into issues with the memory you have no recourse. If you really think your going to end up with 32 gig's then it would be best to get a matched 32 gig kit. Or just wait and save up for the kit you need to avoid compatibility issues. Most people run into issues with trying to ru just two kits or separate sticks let alone 4 unmatched modules.
