Vvb
Hi guys, Planning to get myself a little present, but wanted to clarify few things: 1). Can I hook up this to AirPlay and watch things on my Apple TV? 2). Is there any plans to add DNLA-compliance and WebPortal features? As of today those are the only two negatives of this device. If yes, then when? Should I wait it will be like really soon (<3 months) Thanks, Vlad
Yellowbeard
We are working on both Airplay and DLNA at this time but I do not have a timeline for either of them. There are future webportal changes/additions planned but they are lower in priority than the DLNA and Airplay features.

Does this Airplay depends only on you or there are some third parties involved? I just assume that if it is down to you that things will likely to turn quicker. And just to reconfirm --> this functionality will be available through some sort of downloadable update or there will be a completely new device and I should wait for it then
Yellowbeard
I do not have any additional information on the content or functionality of the Airplay support. The update will be a firmware download available from our website.

I have Mac at home and Windows at work --> would be great to be able to connect to both through USB. One other thing - can it be run through Ethernet splitter? My router has only 2 ports and both are taken out already...

Got it delivered in the morning! Nice one! One thing I am not sure about --> I can see all 3 colours behind the battery light and after 2 hours charging it didn't turn green - is it supposed to be this way? Update: it turned green so no probs:) working perfectly) thanks Corsair
Vvb
Is this story with "the file is too large to be opened" is only an iOS problem? If yes I will really start to consider moving to Android --> too many things are getting out of hand with ios lately...
Yellowbeard
Is this story with "the file is too large to be opened" is only an iOS problem? If yes I will really start to consider moving to Android --> too many things are getting out of hand with ios lately... There are 2 issues. 1: IOS will not allow DRM protected content to be streamed. Therefore, you will be prompted to allow the file to DL to your device to be played back locally. Nothing we can do about this. 2: On content that can be streamed, not all playback apps will playback streaming content. They will force you DL the content. Again, nothing we can do. Oh, yes, I read that this is nothing to do with you guys. Just wondering whether it's iOS specific problem. Used it for the first time today on my car trip --> works really well but connection got cut 2 times (with device went off). I am not sure about the reason but I think I will need more testing to determine whether it is something that happens all the time. BTW, where to look for firmware updates? Yellowbeard
There is no firmware update at this time. They will be posted when needed. As for the connection dropping, you may want to try a different WiFi channel if that continues to happen.

I hooked up both iPad and ATV to Voyager and found out that Voyager app is showing icon, but when you try to connect - nothing happens - just like you said. However, the big surprise was that it showed online video I opened through Safari. So I figured maybe it will work with 3rd party file browser. I downloaded free Remote File Browser from App Store and ... surprise surprise... AirPlay works! So guys if you wonder how to make things work - this is the way until Corsair doesn't add the features into the official app. I also tried to play big Avi file and ... surprise again... it worked without downloading!!! Now I am in love with my Voyager even more!!!

Now I am in love with my Voyager even more!!! Nice find! I downloaded the Remote File Browser as well and now I'm playing MKV's as well with no problems. The thing is Remote File Browser has a built in video playing app that plays a variety of formats. Really, Corsair needs to update their app to include a built in media player. They claim that it is an iOS limitation, that their app cannot play MKV's or other file formats, which may be true, but they can certainly circumvent it by building a solid app and making the Voyager Air that much more useful. Corsair please bring this device up to that as indicated in all your advertising. In addition, although I appreciate your support on this product, I am finding that Corsair is really not clear on what this product is designed to so. So their technical support is a bit off. Don't get me wrong though it is appreciated.
