diehard2
Hi, I recently got an H70, and the backing plate has a 775 orientation, and fits fine. My problem is the front ring doesn't line up at all. I've tried rotating the little holder pieces in both directions, and it's not even close to lining up. I can't even force it. It says here that the socket is supported http://www.corsair.com/hydro-series-h70-cpu-cooler.html and as I said, there are 775 slots on the backing plate. Any ideas? peanutz94
You have to make sure the inserts that go in the front ring are facing the right way . Pop them out and reverse them. Any chance you could post a pic or two of what is not lining up. It may help out greatly?

Yellowbeard
The H70 fits the Asus socket 775 MOBOs perfectly. Check out the how to videos on the H70 product page or Google it.
Spyrious
Thanks for the reply.I watched many videos, but in my case it does not align at all.I will take a pic tomorrow.
Yellowbeard
You have something incorrect in your installation. What does not align? This video should make it clear, the H50 and H70 mount in the same way.
peanutz94
Any chance you could take a top down pic of the ring placed directly over the socket? Maybe we can see what are?
Spyrious
I took some pics. What i noticed is that on the videos the ring has elongated holes while mine has normal circular holes. http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h128/SpyriousGR/h70/IMG_20130708_200934.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h128/SpyriousGR/h70/IMG_20130708_200843.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h128/SpyriousGR/h70/IMG_20130708_200820.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h128/SpyriousGR/h70/IMG_20130708_200720.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h128/SpyriousGR/h70/IMG_20130708_200701.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h128/SpyriousGR/h70/IMG_20130708_200701.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h128/SpyriousGR/h70/IMG_20130708_200626.jpg http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h128/SpyriousGR/h70/IMG_20130708_200621.jpg
Yellowbeard
Check your cooler very closely. Do you have an H70 as you listed above or do you have an H70 Core? They are 2 different coolers and the H70 Core mounting bracket is not compatible with socket 775. CLARIFICATION: The H70 Core will work with your board when using the correct mounting kit that Cool Guy has linked below.
peanutz94
Can you still order the older mounting kit YB? I thought they were a solution to this and were available a few months ago. NVM Found the link. Wont this still work on the new H-70"s? http://www.corsair.com/us/parts/cooling-parts/cwch50-brktkit.html
Corsair Employees COOL GUY Posted July 8, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 8, 2013 You can order the correct 775 mounting kit here. This uses the original style bracket that supports 775.
peanutz94
Thank you for the clarification Cool Guy. I was pretty positive the old mounting kit would work. :) Spyrious, both links go back to the same part number. So either will work.
Spyrious
Correct i have the h70 core. The mounting kit is out of stock.
Mrbranham
I'm actually running into the same problem, just bought a h70 core thought it could be used on my LGA 775 CPU, but end up it won't fit the mobo at all. The link provided for the mount bracket is out of stock and I filed a RMA for this. Is corsair going to send the mount bracket? Or is there anywhere else I can get mount bracket for LGA 775 CPU. Anyone know how to resolve this? :(

Sorry i wish I had better news for you. However if you look at the specs for the H70 Core series it doesn't list socket 775MB's. Intel LGA 1155, 1156, 1366 and 2011 http://www.corsair.com/hydro-series-h70-core-high-performance-liquid-cpu-cooler.html I'm not sure an RMA would get you any where since there is nothing wrong with the unit and it wasn't supposed to come with that mounting hardware anyway. But give it a shot and explain the issue in the comments box and see what happens. If that part is out of stock there is a good chance you'll have to wait for either way until they get more in. Yellowbeard
I'm sorry but we cannot provide an RMA in this case. You'll need to wait till the proper parts are back in stock or obtain a back plate via some other source.
