localmotion23
hi guys, im confused on what standoff to use. im reading the manual and its conflicting on the standoffs to use. its say to use H for LGA1155/1156 and G for LGA2011. Another illustration says teh other way around. which one is correct? im using a intel LGA1155. thanks!
Ledhead900
Yep my manual said the same thing the correct ones are the ones with the even length screw threads (G). The stand off's with the long thread and the shorter end (H) are for the 2011 socket which are the ones I used. At the front of the instruction book it lists the parts this is the correct part letter list, I also noticed further into the book when reading the how to mount the pump it does say the wrong part letter. These are the correct stand offs. G = 1155 Socket H = 2011 Socket
Speed
LGA2011 standoffs have one short thread end because the socket design provides cooler mounting points on the motherboard. The threads don't have to reach through the motherboard to go into the Corsair backplate, because it's not needed. The written instructions are wrong. The drawings are correct. H80i manual says the same thing.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 2, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 2, 2013 Sorry about the mistake that had in the manual. It was the first batch of production/printing where the two stand offs was labeled incorrectly between sockets in the manual. That has been revised on later batches. These are the correct stand offs. G = 1155 Socket H = 2011 Socket This is correct.
