xsun
Hi all! I am new on forum. Currently I have mb asus P5E64 WS Evolution (bois rev/ 0802) with 4 gb of OCZ ram. For upgrade I buyed in a local shop Corsar CMX8GX3M2A1333C9. I had been inserted both modules into primary ram`s slots. Mb didn`t start and "diag ram" led flash. Can you say me my mb will not support my Corsars`s ram or ram modules is malfunctioning? PS sorry for my english
peanutz94
Have you updated your BIOS? And if so did you make sure to clear your CMOS before inserting the new modules? Are you trying to run the Corsair modules with the OCZ memory at the same time?

Your MB uses the x48 chipset that has a limitation of memory modules constructed from 256mb chips. Any of Corsair modules made toady would be made from 512mb IC's making them incompatible with that aging MB. Sorry for the bad news , but you may have a hard time finding memory for that system these days. It would almost be easier to upgrade the MB and CPU than try to find memory that would be compatible with that MB.

If I`ll buy 2 sets of Corsair XMS3 CMX4GX3M2A1333C8 (2x 2Gb), does it will work?
peanutz94
Thanks for the explanation. If I`ll buy 2 sets of Corsair XMS3 CMX4GX3M2A1333C8 (2x 2Gb), does it will work? Unfortunately , no. They too would still be made with the 256mb IC's. I don't knw if there are competitors that are still using the older chips or not. Most of them have also moved to the denser 512MB ic's. Trying to upgrade anything before the newer I series CPU's is going to be tough anymore.
