Icecube34
Hey Just got my hands on a corsair h55 for my new build, Heres my question if anyone can help me? Everything's running how it should apart from the corsairfan being as loud as Henry the Hoover! I'm being serious,! are they really this loud ??? If I was to turn the speed down would it affect the use of the cooler? Or does it need to run at full wack all the time? If this is the case I think I will have to buy another fan. Looking forward to anyone's feedback

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 29, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 29, 2013 The fan is spec'ed at 1700rpm +/-10%, where do you have the fan connected? and at what rpm is the fan running at? Getting an after market fan is always and option like the SP120 fan, this fan are made to be mounted on a radiator like the H55 cooler.
peanutz94
If I was to turn the speed down would it affect the use of the cooler? Or does it need to run at full wack all the time? Depends...If you have it connected to a fan header on the MB you should be able to turn it down. Just keep an eye on your temps as they will be the determining factor of the fan speeds. And as RamGuy pointed out aftermarket fans are always an option. Just be sure to get ones that are designed to be used with radiators.

It's plugged into one of the fan headers on my motherboard m8, Can't check the speed right now as I'm not indoor now, Will post them if needed later when home.
