masterbonko
hey everyone, so i've noticed that my psu (GS800) does an intermittent, morse-code style buzzing when playing games. It isn't any specific game that causes it either. It occurs, perhaps, 40% of any given play time. Anyone else have this experience? anyone have any suggestions/diagnosis? I have an ASUS M5A97 EVO motherboard, if that sheds any light on the issue. Thanks for your time.
peanutz94
It's not uncomon for the fan controllers to emit this kind of noise and is harmless. However if it is so loud that it can be heard over the rest of your system with the case closed then you could have it replaced.
masterbonko
I can hear it plainly whenever it occurs, with the case being closed. so I suppose that I am hearing it over the rest of the system. it definitely sounds like an aberration compared to the system noise... masterbonko
can corsair facilitate a RMA via a retail store? Going to be bonkers trying to do work with a comp for several days...
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 8, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 8, 2013 That is up to the retail store. Typically they'd have a return policy where you can do swap outs with no problem. Best is to contact them and see what the policy is. Otherwise, you will need to submit an RMA request so we can get it replaced via our own RMA process.
