Just purchased 500gb voyager air. I load it up with .mp4/mp3 files to view/listen to on my ipad 3rd gen, connect the drive via wifi to my ipad fine. Use the voyager app and i can see my folder structure (videos/music) however when entering these folders they appear empty. This is also the same accessing it via my iphone5 with the voyager air app. Any thoughts/help would be greatly received. Thinking faulty drive myself.

james_dowling - Would you happen to be looking for the content that you loaded on the Voyager Air in the Voyager Air app under the "Local" tab?

If so, use the tab labeled "Folders" and you should be able to see the content that is in the Voyager Air.

The Local folder will only list content that you have downloaded to your local device (.e.g iPad, iPhone, Android device, et al) using the Voyager Air app.

Excellent point! I was about to post a similar statement. ::pirate::

But, I think we may already have an answer here:

Thanks pooka for the response, i'm affraid it is not that though, i am defo using the top 'folders' option in the app, i can see my folders present ( which is now videos, music, photos only as i created them) but no content in any of them. I will uninstall the app and try again however I did do this at the start, I also have done the reset thing on the drive with a pin. Next step is to try another device, think might try using my ps vita as i can connect this and type ip address of drive to access content, will see if present here.

Try using the VA app to move a file from your PC to your Voyager Air.

I'm sorry, I made a mistake/typo. I meant to ask if you could use the app to upload a file from your device (iPad or iPhone) to the Voyager Air. Check out this blog post, A TOUR OF THE VOYAGER AIR APP.

There are icons in the app for you to create a folder and to upload to that folder. But, remember that iOS is pretty locked down.

The app used on a tablet also offers the ability to Upload to Drive and Create New Folder. These buttons are circled in red below. The Create New Folder icon at the bottom of the screen will allow you to create a new folder. The folder will be created at the location displayed in the app. The Upload to Drive icon at the bottom of the screen will allow you move files from your mobile device to the Voyager Air. The files will be uploaded to the location displayed in the app.

Note: iOS limits the files available for uploading to just photos and videos taken with your mobile device camera. Android devices do not have this limitation.

Sorry for delay, kids keep me busy. I tried uploading a pic and video from my pad (would only allow from my camera roll via the app) both uploaded ok.

I have unistalled app, reinstalled app, turnt off ipad and drive and started again. Uninstalled itunes and resynced my account with ipad, still in same situ when it comes to viewing my pics, music and films.

I am now getting an error message from windows saying voyager air is corrupted. I am considering a format as it will not allow me to delete items via windows, if I do this what 'file allocation size do I need'?

When connecting via vita and the drive ip address it would only let me view the settings page (battery, channel etc).

This can occur if you disconnect the Voyager Air without Ejecting it from the Systray.

From the Corsair FAQ

Q: My Voyager Air occasionally prompts a CHKDSK scan when I reconnect it via USB. Is my data corrupted?

A: No, this is normal and is a byproduct of the Paragon file system used by the Voyager Air server. Corsair recommends using system tray eject (Windows) or Eject (MAC) before disconnecting the Voyager Air USB connection which will minimize these occurrences. When using the Voyager Air as a NAS device, power the device off before removing it from the network.

If you let it run the CHKDSK correction it will fix the issue the majority of the time. It's a pain, but remembering to eject it from the Systray will minimize the potential of this happening in the future. (note that you have to eject it from the Systray, you can't right-click and eject it as you might a USB flash drive.)

Think i've cracked it, has started working after formatting the drive and not adding 'folder' names. Don't mind as only using it to play films for myself and kids, my little girl is now watching Gnomeo & Juliet on the iPad from the voyager air! I'm over the moon, thank you all for your help.
