vnaut
My Corsair TX650v2 is rattling/clicking when I play any games, so mainly when the gpu is being stressed. I've narrowed it down to the PSU by stopping all my fans besides the PSU's. When I run Prime95 it will also rattle. It's definitely the Corsair power supply. I'm outside of the return warranty for Newegg so I have a few questions. I researched this problem and apparently many power supplies have this issue. Is it safe to continue using this power supply? Can it really fry my parts if it fails? To my knowledge, if a power supply fails, it'd just be like shutting the power supply off when the computer's running. How long is the RMA process with Corsair? I live 2 hours away from their location in Fremont, CA. Is there any way to have them pay for some of the shipping? If I wanted to cross ship/pay for shipping, how much would it cost. Thanks for any and all answers guys.
peanutz94
Yes, it's safe to continue using it. However if the noise is heard over the rest of your system or just a complete bother, i would have it replaced. How long is the RMA process with Corsair? Normal RMA's take between 7-10 buisness days to complete. But you could call them and have an advanced replacement arranged. You could even call them and have it arranged for you to pick one up at their offices if you were willing to make the drive. Is there any way to have them pay for some of the shipping? If the unit is less than 30 days old you could request them to pay for the shipping. Otherwise you are responsible for that. Cost depends on the weight of the parcel and what carrier you choose.
