JohanP
I just got a brand new Force GS 240 gb ssd drive. I got a Macbook pro 13" from 2010 that I want to used it in. When I insert the hard drive and boot OS X Mountain Lion from a USB drive, the new hard drive appears in Disk Utilities as it should. But when I try to format it to Mac OS Extended journaled, the process just stops halfway through and nothing happens. I have tried to update the firmware by connecting it to my desktop windows 7 computer via usb and formated it to NTSF but it doesnt appear in the fieldupdater. Now it wont show up in my mac at all. Any sugesstions? Regards, Johan
Toasted
You'll need to format the drive to a Mac compatible file-system. NTFS is for Windows.

Toasted
Diskpart (Windows) should be able to format the drive using the Clean all cmd. It should bring it to unallocated. If that doesn't work, you can use Parted Magic to secure erase the drive.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 1, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 1, 2013 I would use the Parted Magic Boot CD and secure erase the drive then do a fresh install from the install DVD. I have installed both Windows and Mac OSx on a Mac Book Pro with that drive and it was no problem.
