mattty
Hi, I am not sure if someone is still listening here, but I have the same issue. The memtext #6 fails with CMZ16GX3M2A1866C9 in every DIMM/slot combination. I tried two motherboards with AMD FX-8350 CPU. The best I can get out of this is 1600MHz when I set DRAM voltage to 1.35V (1.5V is default). Every higher voltage triggers a few but deterministic errors in memtest test #6. peanutz94
At 1.35v i would expect for them to fail. And with the AMD CPU's you may need as much as 1.65v with that combo. So if you have fewer errors at 1.5v vs 1.35v then that would be a good indication....especially at 1866mhz even though the CPU is supposed to be able to run them , it may still require more voltage than what the sticks are rated for depending on the system they are used in. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 1, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 1, 2013 And I would check that command rate is set to 2T and if you have an ASUS MB make sure you disable Legacy USB when running http://www.memtest.org. And I would set the manually to the setting listed on the module at 1.6 Volts and if you do get that error set the CPU/NB Voltage to +.1 Volts over default. Nec_V20
I should really ask to have the reply I made on another thread to be posted as a sticky. Look don't jerk around with the with the voltages and the timings unless you have at least a rudimentary idea of what you are doing. At 1.35 volts and 1600MHz your system will either crash miserably or if you have all other timings on auto in the BIOS the timings will be at something like 15,15,15,47 or some other stupid value just to compensate for the PEBCAK (Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard). To go to 1600 you HAVE to increase the voltage but that opens a whole other can of worms. For Christ sakes learn about stuff before you mess around with it.
