jaja714
I installed the H80i and the computer won't boot. A few fans go on but the computer never displays anything on the monitor. Also, the H80i fans never go on either no matter which usb header I plug them into.
wytnyt
you have dislodged a cable, ram stick or something, the cooler cant do this explain what you see and hear when you start your computer
jaja714
When I restart the computer, the other fans in the computer start along with a few of the leds built into the case. I suppose a few of the hard drives start spinning as well. I do not hear the traditional motherboard "beep" that I am used to hearing. Remember, the fans on the H80i do not go on ... it is not getting power even though it is plugged into a free usb header. Just to give you a little back history: My computer was built by iBuyPower.com in Jan 2011. It is an ASUS motherboard with an AMD dual-core processor. The reason I replaced the original liquid cooling system is because the computer was shutting down due to high CPU temps. The coils from the old liquid cooling system were "hot" to the touch. When removing the original cooling system, the AMD CPU was unseated because it was "stuck" to the original cooling system (probably due to the original thermal paste). This is odd because that CPU processor lever on the motherboard was still in the down position. After detaching the CPU, I moved the lever into the up position, reseated the CPU, and then moved the lever back down. I then proceeded with the installation of the H80i. Bryman
Try unplugging the pump and see if it still causes problems just keep the h80i heat sink on and don't run any games and you will be fine
jaja714
Thanks for the reply on a Saturday. I tried unplugging the pump from both the usb header and the cpu fan but PC still wont beep or show motherbooard boot screen.
Bryman
Then it's not the pump its something else causing the problem
Bryman
I would first make sure all your ram sticks are lined up to each other and snug and if they are then I would next check all the other components... It's definitely not the pump
jaja714
I did check the memory and they are seated snug as a bug in a rug. I'm not entirely sure what other components to check. How can I verify that the CPU is seated properly?

madmecca1975
Hello I noticed you only mentioned the USB header and CPU fan connecter Have you plugged the Molex connecter in aswell should be three connectors in total
wytnyt
Hello I noticed you only mentioned the USB header and CPU fan connecter Have you plugged the Molex connecter in aswell should be three connectors in total even that wont prevent booting, something has been jarred loose
jaja714
wytnyt, I tried booting with each ram in the primary position (and the other empty) and no boot. madmecca1975, the eSata is connected now, so the cooling fans now spin (thanks). All, Each time I boot (without the pump connected), I do notice the CPU gets warm even though nothing is booting, so it is most likely seated properly. Why am I not hearing the "beep"? wytnyt
all i can offer is recheck all cable connections did you disturb the processor? i have seen bent pins causing this issue.
jaja714
Yes, some of the pins got bent upon removal of the old cooling unit because, somehow, even with the lever down, the processor was "glued" to the old cooling unit. Now I set the pins straight using a magnifying glass and needle and the processor fell right into place. I even removed the processor a few times to make sure re-insertion didn't rebend the pins but they are all still straight. I will get a new processor (six core) and see if that helps. So, even though this can no longer be classified as H80i issue, anyone else have any troubleshooting ideas or, at the very least, an idea as to which forum I should go to to seek more help? wytnyt
i think a processor is your best bet, good excuse to get a better one...:D:
Speed
That you say the CPU was stuck to the heatsink, yet the lever remained in the "down" position, and there were bent pins, leads me to the conclusion that a pin may have been broken off during the forcible removal. A bent pin is easy to spot, where a missing pin isn't. In which case, inserting a new CPU into that socket, without having cleared all of the socket holes, would not be good. If this is the case, the pin fragment may be in the socket hole or may have dropped into the socket. If it is in there, a short between traces is inevitable and the board will never boot, unless the fragment can be removed.
roger1948
I almost have the same problem, i install a H110 cooler, the computer won't boot, I do not receive the BEEP sound ,the fan are working fine, the connector for the CPU pump only have 3 wire my motherboard has 4 wire I think this is the problem, when I reinstall my old CPU fan my computer work fine, I guess the H110 is not compatible with my P6T asus mother board,if anyone can help please let me know.
