Hi,

I'm about to buy a Voyager-Air but still have one question about it.

Namely, is it in any way possible to download files from the Voyager-Air to my IOS/Android device with or without the official Voyager-Air App?

I would be very grateful if you could answer that question for me!

Kind regards, Lau30

Hi again,

Unfortunately i still have one more question before i'm going to buy this drive.

I have a Seagate Goflex Satellite which i have connected to my Macbook to stream movies from via my Macbook to my mediaplayer in the living room through wifi.

But the thing is, whenever i play a movie that way it stutters like hell and the movie becomes unwatchable.

So my question is, will the Voyager Air also suffer from the same playback-problems as my Seagate-drive or not?

Kind regards, Lau30

Ps: i thought it would be senseless to create a new topic just for this final question of mine so thats why i asked it in this topic instead.

Playback on iOS is not an issue with Voyager Air BUT! Keep in mind that some of your issue could relate to Apple's DRM. Not all players can stream protected content to iOS.

That said, our internal testing has shown Voyager Air to be superior to the Seagate products in wireless performance. You can read the blog article linked in the sticky posts here.

I experience some read delays or buffering video issues with a GoFlex Home, but it only occurs with higher resolution content (such as video at DVD levels or higher.) I don't experience any problems with smaller files such as .mp4s that were created for viewing on an iPad, but then we're looking at files that are less than 1/4 the size.

I am not experiencing these issues with the Voyager Air with higher density content, but then you have to take into account that the VA does not have all the overhead that your wireless router may have (nor the additional overhead of potentially being linked to a DSL or Cable modem.)
