metaljester
Hi Ive just put together a new PC, Powered by a Corsair GS600. It starts fine and POST seems to process succesfully then it sounds like the cpu fan starts to slow down then the PC restarts and does it all again, the PC doesnt let out a series of beeps and the POST Card shows no errors. The only thing i can think of is that its psu error?
metaljester
Any tests I can do to check output of the psu? I have an Ammeter I have tried starting with and without HD, with reduced memory, without graphics card, accessing the bios instead of letting it boot up and everytime it restarts about the same time. peanutz94
This could be a memory issue too. I would test the memory with memtest to be sure you do not have a failing module. If all is well then see what the voltages are being reported in your BIOS for the 12v,5v, and 3.3v rails.
metaljester
Hi thanks for the reply, the memory is from another PC which runs without issue and unfortunatly i cant get into the BIOS for long enough to check anything out. I have contacted the company who sold some of the items and they believe it may be the motherboard so have asked for it back to be check, will see what happens

metaljester
Well they sent the motherboard back and said their was no problems with it and tried to charge me £30 to get it back! But anyway, im going to try and build it again just on the off chance, just wish their was a way i could test the power supply myself, i tried the paper clip test and it powers up, the fan spins, then stops but still sounds like its on, plus if i turn the light on it remains on, i take it this is normal?
