warmonger180
just got a vengeance C70 in olive drab, which shoulda been called M70 due to it military aesthetic, but anyway.... I have a coolmax 950w psu. prob is the sata 3 device pwr cable, each connector is too short from the next to fit properly in this case using the upper most cage/hdd-ssd slot. as it is, I have the hdd and ssd in their mounts sitting on top of the dvd drive. only solution untiol I can get a new psu. is there a corsair AX psu that's of sufficient length between each connector? thx
VeJLEXDK
Any corsair Power Supply is long enough. If you want the best then get a 760i as you only have one GPU but 2 or more I would recommend the 860i if a low end gpu or the ax1200i if it is a high end. Corsair is discontinuing their ax without the i soon so get the better while you can as the other ones from my experience have coil whine issues. anyhow cheers
OneGun
I think coil whine is hit and miss as my AX850 don't have it.Look at the forums there seems to be more problems with the i PSU then any other one..
warmonger180
I'll have too look into one of those, tho the 860 looks like it'll take gfx cards with 2 6 pin connectors? my 7670 requires 2 6 pin
sonicboom
Any corsair Power Supply is long enough Its not just about length though, connector positioning/spacing can make a difference. My ax750 died recently and the store gave me an ax760 as a replacement. While the length of the longest sata cable is the same on both units, the connector positioning seems different. With the ax750 I could connect 1xDVD drive in top 5.25" bay, 1xSSD and 1xHDD (bottom HDD cage) on the one chain but with the the ax760 I could not reach the DVD drive. Sure I can use another one but given each cable has 4 connectors I feel its a waste. On the plus side, the ax760 connectors are oriented for bottom mounted PSUs (good job Corsair). So no more awkward twisting the sata chain or removing and flipping the connectors around
jlhawn
I am using a AX1200 psu in the C70 military green case and I have 4 hard drives, 2 blu-rays and 2 GTX 580's and all my cables reach everything with ease and the plugs have the correct positions for the hard drives so it's not all monkey rigged looking back behind them. warmonger180
yeah, it's what sonicboon said, the connector positioning. the cable between the 3 is too short for the C(M)

Where did you get this information from? There has been nothing official posted by Corsair. I can't see them discontinuing a flagship PSU in less than a year. Updating them and working out the bugs yes, but not discontinuing. You also have to keep things in perspective. Corsair sells upwards of 100,000 PSU's a month so yes , some are going to have issues while others don't My oldest son owns a regular AX1200 and is dead silent. Coild whine can be caused by several things and not necessarily the PSU.
Administrators Technobeard Posted April 27, 2013 Administrators Share Posted April 27, 2013 You're correct peanutz94. It's not discontinued, nor have we put out any information stating that.
