Silverstreak
Corsair, I purchased a bunch of aftermarket Corsair AF 140 and SP 120 fans for my 800D. Unpleasantly surprised to find the pigtails/cables are just about a foot long instead of 2 feet (or more) on the fans included with the case. How can I route the fan cables to the MB headers just as I did with the OEM Corsair case fans?? Comon Corsair give us decent 2' cable lengths please!! peanutz94
You'll need to use something like this http://www.frozencpu.com/products/1091/cab-07/12_3_Pin_Extension_Cable.html?tl=g2c251s637 Other than the fans provided with the case i have never bought aftermarket fans that had more than about a foot of cable to them...it's pretty much a standard cable length. Silverstreak
^^^ Thanks peanutz94, Having purchased from FrozenCPU before...actually starting 2004, shipping those extension cables to Asia where I live would cost me a tidy sum of money unless purchased with something else. Can't really justify the expense. Wish that Corsair had included these extension cables considering that they do produce large cases what with the 900D scheduled to hit markets across the world. Silverstreak
Just got an idea. I have an old CM fan controller kept someplace. It had 3-4 extension cables in the kit. Now if only I can find them.
wemdee
Could you get something similar from a local supplier? Just a thought.

I had the Corsair AF and SP fans and the power cable is shorter than any other brand of fan I have, my 4 Noctua fans have power cables twice as long as the corsair af and sp plus Noctua gives you extension cables. I ended up selling my AF and SP fans as the cables were too short even in my Corsair C70 case. good fans but not good cables.
Silverstreak
Could you get something similar from a local supplier? Just a thought. Yups, I could try but Corsair seriously need to think of including longer cable lengths with their retail fans. I mean, if the fans included with my 800D had approx. 2' long cables I don't see any reason for retail fans to have shorter ones. Most folks plug their fans into the Motherboard or a fan controller. So instead of that 3" long and IMO pretty useless resistor/low voltage plug-in cable, please include a longer cable to begin with. With the advent of large cases like 800D and 900D this needs a serious rethink. Unless they want people buying these cases to consider other makes of retail fans like the Noctuas which are pretty popular where I live. I like your fans but do not like the cable lengths.
