tinmann840
I recently purchased a Asus P8Z77-WS with a intel core i7 3770K and it posted fine using Corsair Vengeance but I would really like to use Dominator this time around. The i7 3770K I plan on overclocking to about 4.5Ghz. The Vengeance came from my primary gaming build which uses an Asus P8Z68-V Pro with a intel cor i5 2500K. I used it just to make sure my new motherboard would post. I would like to use something faster this time. I am leaning toward the Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1866 MHZ (PC3 15000) is it a worthwhile upgrade?
peanutz94
If your other Vengeance kit is also an 1866mhz kit then there would be no real performance gain to be had. The Dominator may provide a little extra memory overclocking headroom, but that would be about the only difference.
tinmann840
Thanks the Vengeance ram is 1600 and over the week end I bought 16Gb of the Corsair Platinum 1866 from "The Egg".
