Frank28
I decided to remove Corsair Link V.2.3.4816 and play around with Corsair Link V2.0.16. While playing around with v2.0.16 I've discovered a few things that might help Corsair/CoolIt in fixing this software. The Rpm cross hairs works as designed in version 2.0.16 and follows the curves as designed. This doesn't work in version 2.3.4816. Now another thing I believe is happening with both versions is that the software doesn't automatically adjust the preset curves ("performance","quite", "balanced") for the type of fan used. What I mean by this is that if my fan maxes out at 2000 rpm the curve tries to increase the speed to ~3000rpm when temps are raised to the point where the curve maxes out (~3000rpm) this seems to cause the software/node/fan to become unresponsive needing a cold boot or an other firmware flash to clear whatever happened. I've decided to keep using Corsair Link V2.0.16, since the rpm cross hairs and "custom" curve work as long as you don't make the curve go higher then the max rpm of your fan. The "preset ones" still are no good since they cause the fan(s) to become unresponsive. I believe a simple fix to this would be to have the option to adjust the curve scale. ex:lower the max rpm to your specific fans max rpm. I'm not a programmer so I'm not sure if that's possible. If I was Corsair/CoolIt I would start back with version V2.0.16 and tweak it (fix the curves and make it work for win 8 if it doesn't already) I hope they can resolve these issues since I'm sure I'm not the only person with these issues. Ill try to make a video of this with Corsair Link V2.0.16 since its the only one that the rpm curve works. Update: I've also tested it with temperature and it acts up too, If the CPU reaches above 70 degrees C the program seems to think its not on a curve and defaults to the lowest it can go. Frank28
Seems that you've found a smoking gun. Yeah, I've never understood why one cannot manually set the fan type/RPM limits. How is anything supposed to operate within parameters if the parameters themselves are wrong? I'm supposing that the RPM values for different types of fans are set according to fans that are supplied with Corsair cases, and that would be natural, but to assume that those fans are all there is, is a bit shortsighted in practice. That is why there are Custom Curves but it's not made immediately clear that this may be the case. Indeed, something isn't right. seem like it acts up if the fan goes too far above the curve, and if the temp goes past 70 degrees C
Frank28
Check out the video I made of this issue, I hope corsair sees it, these things take a long time to make! I should get compensation for this lol:biggrin: ***56k Warning 143MB HD video *** http://www38.zippyshare.com/v/64870969/file.html
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 9, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 9, 2013 What are the fans connected to the H-series cooler or do you have our C-Link and lighting Kit and the fans connected to the cooling node and what is the make and model of the fans? Are you asking me this questing RAM GUY? If you are I have a link commander, cooling node and AX1200i PSU, my fans are as follows: Fan 1 1x GELID WING 12PL PWM (4wire)(FN-FW12BPL-18), Fan 2 1x TFC - Triebwerk 3wire(tk-122 mid speed), Fan 3 1x Delta dc brushless 4wire AFB1212M all wired in this configuration (see pic)-> http://s21.postimg.org/8wpukg5ef/cooling_node_Setup.jpg
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 10, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 10, 2013 Frank yes I was asking you I suspect that fan in position one is not going to work with our Firmware and it is the first 4 pin fan I have seen not work with the new Software. But let me check with Cool Guy on this and see what he says I am going to split your posts off to its own thread and I would suggest connecting that fan to a MB fan header. Frank28
Question for you. How come it works fine on "custom curve" as long as my CPU temps don't go over 70C. If I test with my CPU temp at 60C it will run all day without issues.
Frank28
any word on that fan issue ram guy? Have you spoken to cool guy?

Frank28
have you tried running your curves off the h100I temp? its alot better and accurate as the water temp is what really needs controlled I don't have a corsair cooler, I have a custom cooling system. I'll eventually get a water temp sensor on my manifold to monitor the temps and run it off that. The problem I'm having is fans are throttling down in my cpu gets over the last point in a custom curve. Thanks though

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 15, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 15, 2013 Frank I am sorry but no I was out of the office for a week sick, but I will try to get with Cool Guy and see if there is any updates on this but he is normally good at getting with me on this type of issue if there are any updates. I suspect that we will not do anything till the next Firmware release for the cooling node and that will be a while. And Roger that on the Pickles and Ice cream and some Popeye's Chicken at 1 in the morning a few times as well LMFAO! Oh and one night was fried fish... WTH. Frank28
Any news Ramguy/Coolguy? Its got to be software since Akasa 4wire Pwm fans do the exact same thing!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 2, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 2, 2013 I am sorry but no news yet however we will be releasing a newer version of our software that will address some of the issues that have been reported and I suspect it may help with the issues you have reported. However, the Fan issue is one I am not sure if and or when we would be able to address it. For the time being I would suggest using that fan on a MB Fan header
