Rephaim
Hey, Today I received my GS800 after a 10 day wait. I plug it in (yeah, should've tested first.) and turned the system on, happy to be rid of the old psu I was borrowing which could only power 1 of my 3 drives. The system starts and the PSU shuts off after a few seconds, not per sé at a specific part in the boot process, I tried going into the BIOS and it shut down there too. I tried connecting NOTHING but the 24 and 8 pins mobo connectors, to no avail. The system runs fine on the old PSU. Is it safe to say it's a DOA and if yes, are there no costs at all for returning it to corsair? Cheers and thanks!
peanutz94
Is it safe to say it's a DOA and if yes, are there no costs at all for returning it to corsair? I would tend to think so. I would at least try the brief functionality test found in the sticky's. If it stil fails to power up then please call CS with your RMA number and let them know that the replacement has arrived DOA. They will cover shipping for you both ways on second RMA's and I'm sure they will get you another one pretty fast. I willing to bet within a day or two. But calling them would certainly be the fastest way to get this taken care of. It may be a couple of days wait for you to get everything set up through emails.. Rephaim
let them know that the replacement has arrived DOA. This unit isn't a replacement, it's a brand new first purchase. The one I'm using as backup is a spare from a friend (which doesn't offer enough connectors so I'm quite limited) Thanks for the quick reply, I'll give corsair a call tomorrow and post my findings. I'll also run the tests you described but I think I've tested thoroughly, as it can't even remain on when only powering the mobo. Cheers!
