auguste
I have purchased a pack of CORSAIR 16 GB RAM. The complete reference is : CORSAIR DDR3 16GB (4*4) CMP16GX3M4X1600C7 The motherboard is an ASUS P7PF55D http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P7P55D_PRO/#specifications The manual indicates that the maximum memory supported is 16 GB : 4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 2200(O.C.)*/1600/1333/1066 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory Dual Channel memory architecture Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) However, only 8 GB are currently recognized by the mother board. I have already updated the BIOS to the most up to date firmware provided by ASUS. - Is this issue related to the fact that our motherboard supports Dual Channel (the memory is Quad Channel)? - Is there any way to get 16 GB recognized by the motherboard ? - If not, do you have recommendations (with complete references if possible) on what memory I should purchase in order to get the maximum of 16GB working on this motherboard ? Thank you very much for your help, Best regards, Auguste
Administrators Technobeard Posted April 10, 2013 Administrators Share Posted April 10, 2013 Try one stick at a time in the same slot and see if each stick is recognized as a 4 GB stick in the BIOS. This way you can determine if each stick is ok.
