largie
g'day, i just bought a set of vengeance 2000's and am trying to install the latest drivers and having troubles. i downloaded the drivers from a sticky in these forums and upon opening the only option i get is to remove headset software. So i click on this and part way thru i get a 'corsair headset software setup wizard ended prematurely because of an error. Yor system has not been modified. to install the program at a later time, run setup wizard again.' I cant find anything in device manager under audio and microsoft search of 'corsair' only finds the link2 software from my psu. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 8, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 8, 2013 What OS are you using Largie? Do you have full admin privileges? Have you tried plugging the dongle into a different port (or a different system) to see if it detects properly? Even without drivers, the headset should be detected and work accordingly. Toasted
Check your antivirus settings and see if its blocking the installer from installing the required files.
largie
thanks for the reply, i got it to install today, after deleting windows shell addon, though think just a coincidence :) But double clicking the headset control panel icon in the program files does nothing. Is there some other way to launch, that im blind to?
Toasted
Check the notifications tray and see if its there. If not, check Task Manager, is the process there?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 10, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 10, 2013 The headset software should launch on bootup. To bring it up after closing, click on the icon in your system taskbar.
largie
ive now tried to install on a second computer and also after reinstalling windows 8 64 bit on my computer and still the same problem. The headset works just not the corsair headset software. when i click on the icon in the stat menu, i just get taken to desktop. To install i click on the link at corsair website and choose save to computer. I than open the folder and double click 'corsairheadsetsetup_2.0.7' and follow the prompts to install. This was a fresh install of windows so no old drivers to delete and nothing but windows installed. Im at wits end, i got this headset for the eq and 7.1, of which i cant use :( no doubt its something stupid im missing, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Needless to say, ive had absolutely no problem installing the corsair link software for my psu
