Diellur
Hi all, I recently had an HX750 replaced under RMA due to my first unit having a fan issue...ticking/grinding noise. Corsair replaced this under RMA with another HX750, although I think it's a newer version. Unfortunately, this has a very noisy fan at load. I've recorded the noise which can easily be heard over noise-cancelling headphones. The previous HX750 was whisper-quiet under the same loads (hardware config, games played etc) so I suspect that this PSU is either faulty or poorly designed? I worry it's the latter given that there are others that seem to have a similar issue. My issue is that my system is water-cooled and generally very quiet. This PSU is louder than my 560Tis were on air-cooling, which is saying something, and totally nullifies the point in water-cooling. Ramguy, if you see this, could you comment if this is normal behaviour? I'm happy to RMA if necessary, but if this is normal for the PSU than I'd like to inquire about getting a refund. Since this is an RMA unit already, I'll need advice from Corsair on this.
peanutz94
Diellur , since this is already a replacement please contact CS on Monday with your previous RMA number and let them know that it too is making that noise. They will pay for shipping both ways and should get you another unit asap. And please remember Corsair sells upwards of 100,000 PSU's monthly so you are going to see others with complaints and othe issues. This is a support forum and no one ever stops by to say things work great.
Diellur
Thanks for the response, I'll do that. I'm aware of that; I'm not on to make noise (no pun intended). If this is a design issue, then Corsair need to be made aware of it. I'm a big fan of their kit, so I don't raise issues lightly. :)
