HammerNL
Yesterday I bought myself a h100i. Installation went well, however, it took some time because it was a tight fit in my case. (Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced with Asus P8Z68-V PRO motherboard) The power cable & ram is/almost touching the side of the fans. But okay, the system booted it, fans were spinning and temp after some Prime95 time were nice. BUT: I installed the latest Corsair Link, but when I opened the program the H100i wasn't recognized. So I did a lot of plugging and unplugging of the H100i to make sure they were connected properly. I also checked the BIOS for usb settings, but everything was okay. Finally I decided to unplug an other usb cable that is connected via the motherboard. (the one from my CM 690 II Advanced case, it's for the front/top usb connectors of the case) So now only the h100i was connect via usb to the motherboard. Booted up the sytem and the H100i was recognized... So after playing a bit with the corsair link software, I thought let's shut down the system and replug the usb cable that i removed earlier, (the one from the usb ports on the front on the case) to see what happens. Initially everything worked normally h100i was recognized, however if I plug something into the front usb ports (let's say a keayboard), the h100i disappears in Corsair link and won't return untill i remove the usb cable from the 'motherboard'... (just unplugging the keyboard from the front usb port doesn't help, reboot system neither) So long story short: Corsair link/h100i bugs out when 2 usb cables are connected via motherboard. Short term solution: Let the 2nd usb cable from front usb ports unplugged from motherboard (This isn't ideal on long term...) Other solution (not tested it yet myself): In an other topic i read about connecting the H100i with a mini Type B to type A USB cable. This will probably work, but I think it doesn't look that nice, a usb cable from inside case to the outside. And this is also not the way corsair developed this product. More people with the same problem? System spec's if needed? I2500k Asus P8Z68-V PRO Asus GTX690 H100i 8Gb ram
wytnyt
while not ideal, just get a cable and plug to a rear usb 2.0 fixed both my builda and no usb connection issues

wytnyt
Yeah true, but is this problem already known by the devs? yes its a known situation but of course theres been usb issues with devices with most every device made thats how most of my flash drives have got corrupted, from having unhappy devices being used simultaneously i had a mini kb that hated anything else being plugged in
Darkwing
seems the H100i can't really work proper with anything else USB related. I have so many USB devices/ports and all work nicely together without issue. The H100i either doesn't show up in link, or it does but after a few hours all fans will show 0 and then it is re-plugging time again......lol Should have stayed with my H50, never had an issue with it. Luckily the cooler itself does it's job whether it gets seen in link or not. My MB has plenty of fan headers and temp connectors so I am thinking of ripping link off my system, and control all fans through Asus AIsuite instead. Only thing that I'll keep is the commander to do my LEDS..... ;-)

Darkwing
hmmm.....it was called slightly different, but indeed some asus fan control was running. Not sure why as I uninstalled it. It appeared to sit in an Asus folder, but not set to start automatic, so something must start it up somehow. Anyhow, it has now been deleted so might solve some issues, like impossible temps, speeds etc. Thanks

HammerNL
Well this morning I tried connecting the h100i with a usb cable from my own. So this time not connecting it with the motherboard, but via a usb port on the back of my pc. Result: h100i is detected however, the readings of the sensor are all on zero and I can't adjust anything in corsair link (led colour etc.) So pretty much useless connecting it this way. Only thing that works for me is, connecting the h100i with the motherboard and detach all other usb connectors from the motherboard.... So I lose frontpanel usb connectors which I use quite often. Hope this will be fixed soon in a firmware/software update. Is the Corsair link software/firmware being updated frequently? (i'm new to the product so)
Darkwing
when all the readings are zero, uninstall the software, delete profile and reinstall. A second set of readings will appear with normal values, you'll have to manually delete the ones showing zero.
