K90
Hi guys! First, for the media key issue, I have already been here. Still no luck. Basically if I start teamspeak and join a server the keyboard becomes unresponsive. Nothing works on it, num lock and all other keys just won't work. My mouse works fine if I join the server and so does my headset. I plugged another old generic keyboard in and it works fine even if the k90 is frozen. If I hit caps lock on the generic keyboard, the light on the k90 shows up. I went into device manager and disabled the first "Corsair Gaming Keyboard" under HID's but that brings up the media key issue after the board is unfrozen. I've tried updating the firmware but it only sometimes fixes the WHOLE issue AND I have to do this each time I join a server on teamspeak. I open up sound properties...because it only happens when I join teamspeak (so far) and disable my headset (logi USB headset) and all of a sudden the keyboard works fine. lol! What? I kid you not, disabling the headset gives ALL function back to the keyboard. So now I move all the plugs around and it still persists :(. My little generic USB in the front works just fine throughout all this mind you. So after lurking around this forum and googling for a couple of weeks I gave up and now I am here, I jump off this damn cliff and into your arms. :) SAVE ME! :sigh!: Oh yea, I've also been to my MOBO's website and RE-installed all the USB 3.0 drivers. Still no luck. :( **I left out some of the names in my system setup thingy after reading the rules, I'm not sure if the competitor thing covers that area as well, but just to be safe I left em blank. ***Love the K90 and can't wait for a full mechanical version! Toasted
Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for the keyboard? Copy+Paste the information in the information screen. (the i icon at the top right hand corner) Do you have any other software that configures keyboards, mouse installed? If so, try uninstall it and see if it works. (the i icon at the top right hand corner) Do you have any other software that configures keyboards, mouse installed? If so, try uninstall it and see if it works. 1. Tried re-installing the driver multiple times after uninstalling both the software and the keyboard from the device manager. 2. Software: 1.00.00.30 USB Keyboard: VID: 0x1B1C PID: 0x1B02 Manufacturer: Corsair Product: Corsair Vengeance K90 Keyboard Firmware: 1.31 Windows: Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit 3.I only have one that configures my mouse. It's a completely different brand, should I still try to uninstall it? I really feel like my USB ports are messed up or something. Fairly new rig too. Toasted
Latest BIOS? Can you try the K90 on another computer to see if the media keys work and test Teamspeak with the headset as well?
K90
Latest BIOS? Can you try the K90 on another computer to see if the media keys work and test Teamspeak with the headset as well? Sorry for the late reply, work sucks. Latest bios for sure, I will test the keyboard and headset on another computer and try again. You might be on to something but I really hope my USB ports aren't screwed. *Will Update.\ Update: It works fine on the laptop I just tested it on. I guess the problem is with my rig, not sure how to proceed. Another Update: Loaded up crysis 3 to play some multiplayer and the keyboard just froze but the media keys work lol. I'm pretty sure my rig is screwed. My normal keyboard works fine to play crysis but the K90 freezes and the media keys work.
Toasted
On the laptop the K90 and headset worked fine on Teamspeak? What other USB devices do you have plugged into your desktop?
K90
Yup. Nothing else really, printer and that's it. I'm almost certain something with the USB ports or drivers are screwed, not sure of how to fix it but bleh.
Toasted
Reset your BIOS to defaults and see if that helps. You can try a reinstall of Windows.
K90
Will try the defaults, if that doesn't work I will EVENTUALLY go with the reinstall of windows. Ty for the help.
K90
Update: Reflashed bios, re-installed all USB drivers and still no luck. Gonna just use my workaround until I can do a fresh install of windows. Hopefully I find a fix before it even gets that far. Another update: My old work around didn't work anymore (disabling corsair gaming keyboard in device manager). Disabling the headphones still worked but then I would be without a mic in TS lol. What works now is moving the headset to the front USB ports on my case. I'm obviously a retard BUT doesn't this mean the USB ports on the back of the MOBO are ****ed in some way? Definitely not a keyboard problem or a corsair issue so I guess this is "solved". More useless update to fully narrow down the issue: I use a PS3 controller with motionjoy to emulate an xbox controller for windows and while connected by a USB in the back, it works BUT there is a very noticeable delay vs when it's in the front. I will either RMA this board or break down and cry after a re-install of windows doesn't work.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 16, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 16, 2013 It does sound like there is an issue with USB. Did you try disabling "USB Legacy Devices" in the BIOS to see if it helps?
K90
It does sound like there is an issue with USB. Did you try disabling "USB Legacy Devices" in the BIOS to see if it helps? Hello! I had given up on looking for support from this forum/corsair since I think we narrowed it down to the MOBO or something else but ty for the suggestion! I will try it and see what happens/update here.
K90
I disabled the Legacy devices in the BIOS and now I can usk the keyboard fully functional if it's plugged in the back with the mouse. If I plug the headphones in the back, it's back to freezing. Media keys and everything work fine if I keep the headphones in the front so I will do that. Ty for the help again. :)
Toasted
Are you using a USB hub? If so, remove it and see if it helps. Are there any USB devices plugged in via the K90's pass-through?
K90
No hubs, nothing plugged into the passthrough.
Toasted
Refer to your motherboard's user manual and make sure the K90 is plugged into a USB 3.0 port that is being controlled by the Intel chipset instead of the third party one.
