ChuChuTrick
Alright so, I cannot get automatic profile switching working... With hardware playback disabled, I cannot actually get the vengeance software to auto switch...I have a profile assigned to Bioshock infinite (BioShockInfinite.exe), and when I start up the game I get a notification (via the on screen display) saying that the appropriate profile has been activated, however, the profile does not actually change, meaning that the settings I assigned to the profile do not come into affect. I'm wondering if there is a fix for this? or will I simply have to wait for the next software update? Oh and on a weird side note, my Corsair Vengeance tray icon appears as a blank white paper icon (missing icon), until I change/re-initiate the report rate setting, upon which, the program reloads and the appropriate corsair icon is now active...this isn't a major issue, I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this? Member
I just posted this on another thread, looks like I am not alone with this issue. http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=116225&page=3 "There is also something wrong with the way profiles are switching. I have created multiple profiles for different games and assigned appropriate .exe. The profiles DO SWITCH automatically in the panel, but somehow they are not activated. I have to alt+tab out of the game and then manually select the active profile for the DPI change to take effect. Very strange, I flashed the mouse few times, but to no avail." Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 8, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 8, 2013 Are you guys using hardware playback when attempting to switch profiles? Also, is the .exe you're binding it to the actual .exe that starts up (it should match what is in task manager under processes)?
ChuChuTrick
Are you guys using hardware playback when attempting to switch profiles? Also, is the .exe you're binding it to the actual .exe that starts up (it should match what is in task manager under processes)? As I mentioned in my initial post "With Hardware playback disabled"... Second..the profile is set to switch for "BioShockInfinite.exe", not bound to the shortcut or a launcher.exe or anything like that...and I am still unable to get the profile settings to switch. The profile switches, but none of the button settings actually change...
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 12, 2013 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 12, 2013 Ive tested the profile switching with different .exe's and I don't see this issue. In the Assign Buttons screen, does the upper left pull down menu show the correct profile to be loaded? Is Bioshock the only .exe causing this issue? Have you tried using a different exe like Internet Explorer for example?
Member
Yes the profiles do switch, but the DPI changes that were made to the profiles are not activated. And no, hardware playback is not activated. Just to test it, I have created new profile "test" and assigned firefox.exe, then I changed the dpi setting for sniper button to 5700 DPI. I switched to different profile just to see if it automatic profile loading takes place when launching firefox. When launching firefox the profile "test" did loaded and is clearly visible in pull down menu, but the custom 5700dpi that I have assigned to the sniper button did not work at 5700DPI even though it shows in control panel as 5700DPI when pressing sniper button. It appears that the mouse is stuck in default value. Like I said previously, you have to manually re-select profile for it to work properly. There are way too many issues with you mice Corsair. The complete lack of firmware and software updates is simply unacceptable. Software glitches, internal hardware failures and now horrible tracking with M65. I will no longer buy your peripherals unless you get your act together Corsair. I understand that no mice is perfect outer, and realistically it is impossible to catch every bug, but something like floaty tracking and automatic profile switching should have been thoroughly tested. Perhaps Corsair should hire FPS gamers as beta testers. To be clear, I really, really like the design, but all these problem could have been avoided with proper testing. Update: Well I did flash the firmware once more, and performed clean software install, the problem is not fixed. The profiles load and show correctly in control panel, but custom changes to the profile such as keys and DPI do not work. It seems as if the mouse is stuck in default settings or whatever custom settings that was saved to the mice internal memory. Selecting the profile manually works. Also the same thing is happening with both, M60 and M65 on two different computers.

Member
OK Thanks, I will test this on my laptop later on to make sure it isn't caused by something else.

gtr2244
I have the same problems, how I get around it is set it to Hardware playback, then when it switches profiles, click Save to M65. This works for me, otherwise it would switch to the correct profile without any dpi or macros initiated.
