bigpace
I’m building a new PC around an Asus P9X79 pro with i7 3820 processor, 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1866 Mhz CL9 RAM, Intel liquid cooling, 2 x WD 1TB HD’s, Geforce gtx 560ti, Creative Recon 3D sound and 2 optical drives (DVD and DVD rw). At this point the system will not be overclocked but that may change. For the PSU I’m looking at the GS 800 or the TX 850. I would prefer the GS 800 but should I go for TX 850 or even another PSU? Nec_V20
I have been really happy with my AX850 over the past couple of years and it rescued me from a nasty surge in our building a couple or so weeks ago which did damage to two computers in my building that did not have a Corsair PSU but some no-name cheapo PSU - for one person only his PSU was fried and for the other not only his PSU died but also his Mobo. I am building a second system at the moment as a media server PC and I have ordered the modular TX750. From your specs I think this PSU would be more than sufficient for your needs and still have reserves to expand and/or overclock your system. Speed
On my P9X79 Deluxe, i7-3930k, 32GB RAM, GTX670, I went for an AX1200i. The 650D case has a lot for room for drives and the board has room for more GTXs and another 32Gb RAM, so decided to not chance underpowering possible upgrades.
