How to install GPU Node?

Recommended Posts

I received my Cooling Kit and GPU Node yesterday and installed it last night, but I think I made a mistake with how to install the GPU node. I plugged the GPU node cable into the "Case Fan Controller" slot on the Commander because I didn't know where else to plug it in.

However, this morning I just thought about that further and it seems definitely wrong. Where does the GPU Node plug into?

The "Case Fan Controller" is only for the 600T model cases with the dial fan controller, just to clear up confusion.

Your GPU Node plugs into the temperature sensor of your Cooling Node, which in turn is plugged into your Commander. In Corsair Link, you have to change the GPU Node temperature to a power reading afterwards for it to display the power being used.

So if I have all 5 fan slots already used for case fans then I need another cooling node for the GPU? And should I unplug the GPU from the node until I get the cooling node?

No, it's in the temperature sensor port, not the fan port. That's why they only give you 3 temperature sensors and four ports. The extra port is used for a GPU Node.
