crw1962
I just installed Link software with the commander, 2 cooling nodes and 2 lighting nodes. When boot up my system and start link (newest version) the temperature reading for my second GPU is "0" until I start GPU-z and then it starts to work. Is anyone else having this problem. Any insight would be appreciated. Win 7-64 Prof. Asus P9X79Pro MB I7-3820 16 Gig Ram 2x Saphire HD 7970 in xfire
Bryman
It's the way radeon saves power with crossfire if one of the gpus isn't needed it goes in a low power mode and thus doesn't display it's temp
Timmall
First, there is a lot more information in the Corsair Link section of the forum for these types of problems. Secondly, I had the same problem and just fixed it a few minutes ago thanks to the assistance of forum member Toasted. If you go into the registry and disable ULPS the readings for your second GPU will appear in the Link software.
Bryman
yes ULPS is what disables the 2nd GPU for power saving...takes a 'little' more power but doesnt disable the 2nd GPU of course it should still underclock if it doesnt then that takes ALOT more power and i wouldnt do that unless you want to use 30+ more watts at idle ok actually just believe it affects when your monitor either enters power saving mode or a display isnt connected to the GPU or you have crossfire and the 2nd GPU isnt being used otherwise it still underclocks and everything shouldnt be using more than like 5-8 watts at max at idle extra
Timmall
Perhaps I misunderstood the initial post...I was simply trying to assist with the temp reading in the Link software. If you disable the ULPS in the registry you will find that the temp readings for the second GPU will display properly. This appears to be a common problem and this fix definitely worked to resolve my issue with a zero degree reading in the Link software.
Bryman
Yes ulps stands for ultra low power state

Bryman
Ya ulps is pretty pointless IMO you save like max 10 watts but can cause major problems... Under clicking saves you like 30 I like that better
