cx600

Well am a little disappointed with corsair now atm. To start the story right I bought in October a psu for my new build that i'm working on. At the time money was a little tight for the initial components so i bought a cx600 to tide me over (only have 1 670 atm anyway but plan to get another in about month or so after my wc loop is finished). All my friends highly suggested corsair i had my eye on a ax 850 originally but other components got more pricey than originally figured. So i got a CX 600 for 60 dollars compared to 180 for the AX with the plan of getting an AX later. On Friday the psu made a pop sound and stopped working it would turn on then right back off 30 secs later. I unhooked the psu and hooked up another I had laying around and my board worked my fans turned on wonderful. then i got into my os no problem 670 is good Sabertooth is good Samsung 830 is good. I notice something weird however my desktop has nothing on it the wallpaper is black theres no icons just a start button well the orb. and an error message desktop is unavailable. So im like okay whats that mean well as i use ssd for os i have all other stuff on a raid array of 2 sea gate barracuda 7200rpm 320gb hdds. Well as it would turn out when the psu died it took my drives with it they were about 80 about as old as the psu so i figure probably worth 50 now each. so this cx 600 temporary psu i bought has now cost me 160 dollars. I put in an rma request and mention the drives being blown even offer to send them in so they can see for themselves. Today I receive a return ticket saying my ram has been accepted but saying nothing about the drives not even a were sorry that are psu fried your hard drives. Whatever maybe they didn't see the drives issue ill let it go for now. I put a letter in the box with the psu mentioning the drives and for them to please take that into consideration I mean if nothing else they could at least acted like they cared at all. So a family member is going to the store I asked them hey can you drop this at the mail place and ship it for me. Of course corsairs rma makes me to pay to ship it fine im in AZ there in cali not too far figured 4-5 dollars to ship it. They returned with a receipt and a tracking number and a receipt for 17 dollars are you serious.(keep in mind LA is a 5 hour drive from my house). So looking back I spent 60 on the psu apprx lost about a 100 in hdds and payed 20 to ship it so in essence I payed the price of a ax series psu for a cx 600 that was only ever meant to be temporary psu in the first place. WOW is all I can say I love corsairs memory and cases had plenty of it even have some headphones by them but there PSU's my first experience hasn't been to good to start.

Sorry to hear your having such problems. Something had to have gotten mixed up somewhere obviously. Their CS really is about the best. I have used it myself on a handful of occasions. Since your so close to them I really would call CS and let them know about the issues your having.

 

Let them know you would like to fill out a damage claim form for the drives. And RMA the PSU too.They have a new RMA system, that I have personally not used yet . Probably should take a trial run just to see. But i always suggest calling them so things don't get lost in automated emails.

 

At any rate I'm sure if you explain it to them they will make it right. In fact if Technobeard see's this .he's lible to get the ball rolling for you. He's a good dude and keeps an eye on the forums pretty well. Also Yellowbeard may be of some help too if he gets a chance to see this. Thats if you havent had a chance to call them by then.

hey peanuts thanks for your reply. I did put in a rma form and I have called them to see if i could get the rma ticket updated the guy just said gimme a second and then said its done have a good day and hung up on me so I gave up on calling them at that point. I have worked tech support so understand he was probaly busy or having a bad day no biggie. How do i put in a damage claim I have an rma ticket up already and the psu will be to them by thurs. Like I said I left in a note in the box lol. I have heard that corsair has great CS so we will see. And thanks for your inputs very much apreciated.

I'd recommending calling back ASAP as damage claims are completely different than an RMA. They go to different locations, different process, etc.

 

Give them the RMA number and tell them you just sent it in and ask if it's not too late to do a damage claim.

hey techno i called them they said they will try to cacth it and to fill out a damage claim and emailed me the file to fill out thanks very much for your help i didnt know that i did mention in my notes that that happened my ticket number is 6001080 if you want to see and thanks again for your help.

okay so ram guy is helping me with my damage claim he sent me an email today saying i should get a prepaid shipping label and send the drives. On another note I bought a new psu that im very happy with a xfx 850 the new one it has the same components as a ax 860 but for cheaper (about 65 dollars cheaper) or Id of gotten the 860 I needed more watts for second graphics card that Ill be getting next month. Do you think that they would give me corsair store credit or maybe some ram instead of a replacement psu. I tried to wait but I got some side work and I needed my desktop my laptop doesnt have dreamweaver and photoshop and probaly wouldnt be able to run them anyway lol.

k guys i caled them again just now the got my drives and were going to replace my psu but bought a new one and give me 120 dollars for the drives which i have also replaced but we managed to work out a deal they are sending me 2 8gb sticks of 1600mhz dominator platunim it took awhile but corsair has more than held up there aswemome customer service and to that i am grateful thanks corsair

sorry techno should have said that I got the prepaid label long ago they have had the drives for quite awhile but thanks for your help all of you im satisfied immensly the tech even offered to send me the 20 dollar diffrence between my claim amount and the ram I told him no thats okay the ram is just fine. I have always loved corsair and i always will.

Oka hybrid so my rma and damage claim were approved we worked out a deal and and I was told there were sending out my new ram I received an email stating all this and was told to refer to order number1291030. My question is how do I do that I hav went every possible place I could put an any number and it doesn't work I would like to be able to track the package assuming ng I can with that number but where.

It should be UPS ground shipping. And you can go right to UPS's site to track it. If the tracking number doesn't show yet, it's probably not in the system . Sometimes even though Corsair says it shipped it will still take another day or so before it actually enters UPS's system.

hey i dont know if any1 is reading this anymore but wondering something okay so my ram was supposed to be sent out and it hadn't been so i gave cs a call the said something about part number discrepancy and that they would fix it. now ii get an email with a tracking number and it says this Hello francis,

so to me that says that there sending a psu but im not suppose to get a psu and on the ticket it is just closed no new notes

okay so i have had a corsair rma and damage claim ongoing and it was approved and i talked to someone on the phone and they got it all finished and sent me this email.

 

Hi Francis,

then today i hadn't received a tracking label and didn't know how to check an order number so i called customer support and told them i have a rma and was told to ref order number ect and the said whats the rma number i told them 6001080 and they said there's a part number issue will fix and ship today

the tracking number says 6lbs ram don't way 6 lbs this is seriously ridiculous This is not how business is done maybe the guy was new i dont know but what do i do now
